Description

I have one question that will answer the future of ME.

Your goal is to fix bugs and add new "mods" and nothing like making the game "complete" right?

  1. Full game loops. Setting goals for us to accomplish (quests, requests, trading, jobs, roleplaying/titles etc.).

  2. Full economy. Tied to trading, logistics and work force.

  3. NPC's. Filling up the hole in this ghost game.

I mean yes, its a survival building game, and turning it into a proper MMO is something that even for KSH is too much let alone for few guys doing some stuff in free time.
So practically you are just keeping this game creator a float so we dont feel like it was completely abandon despite the fact it will never be "finished".
Thats no news for me.
Once you build your castle and what not, its gonna be the same all over again like before you guys came. Theres no real goals to this game, and it will die very fast.
The only reason why people are coming back is to try the new mod and once they are done with it, its back to other game.

ME needs a real purpose or reason for us to keep continue and building the world. Even the engine it self have limits to what it can hold on one server.
Its a shame. I really wanted to build a village and let people come live there or even NPC's and so. But i guess that aint happening.
I have already build everything possible that came to my mind and thats it. And im not just some random dude. I do have tons of hours in both ME and SE

Thats game completed for me. Its really shame because not like other medieval mmo survivals, ME is easy to play and fun. But (read above).

It was a pleasure and lots of fun exploring the games, but i guess this is the end road.

Steps To Reproduce

  2. Build what ever you want (if the server does not get restarted and you loose hours of work and progress tree)

I'm going to close this as a not a bug because it's a set of multiple requests and questions. Feel free to re-open individual requests as separate tickets.

Our primary goal is fixing bugs and making sure that modders have the tools necessary to build their own features.
That said assuming that we find ourselves in a place where the game is stable and we don't have a backlog of engine work for modders we are not opposed to new features. Any new vanilla features need to align with Keen's general vision of the game, but new modding features don't. For your individual requests:

  1. We're discussing adding a POI system (0000239) that could place things in the world that a player could find and experience.
  2. You can file a ticket to start discussing what an economy would look like. There's a trading post mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=931508706
  3. There's a ticket for adding more animals in 0000166, and the POI system is something we could use in the future to place NPCs into structures in the world.
